What this page covers
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on chefmaffini.com, what each group does, and how you control them.
The site is operated by MindBE Education FZCO, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For how we handle personal data more broadly, read our Privacy Policy.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. It lets the site remember something between page loads, such as the choice you made about cookies. Some cookies are set by us. Some are set by services we use. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage. Everything below applies to those too.
Your choice comes first
When you first visit, a consent banner appears. You can accept all cookies, reject everything that is not essential, or open Preferences and choose category by category.
Essential cookies always load, because the site cannot work without them. Statistics and marketing cookies are held back and load only after you turn that category on. This site uses an opt-in model, so doing nothing means non-essential cookies stay off.
Your choice is stored for 30 days. After that the banner asks again. You can change your mind at any time using the small cookie icon that floats on the page.
The three categories
We use the consent tool WPConsent, which sorts cookies into three categories.
1. Essential
Needed for the site to function and to remember your privacy choice. These cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| wpconsent_preferences | Stores the cookie choice you made | 30 days |
| Session and security cookies | Keep the site running and protect against spam and attacks | Session or short term |
2. Statistics
Measures how the site is used so we can improve it. This covers which pages are read, how long people stay, and how visitors arrived. It is used in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you. These load only if you turn statistics on.
3. Marketing
Used to measure whether an ad or a campaign brought someone to the site, and to build audiences for advertising. These load only if you turn marketing on.
Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager, container GTM-NJ52GQPZ.
Be clear about what this is. Tag Manager is a container. It does not measure anything by itself and it does not set advertising cookies on its own. It is the tool that decides which measurement tags are allowed to run.
The Tag Manager container loads on every page so that it can read your consent choice and act on it. Any tag inside the container that would set a statistics or a marketing cookie stays switched off until you consent to that category. Google Consent Mode is enabled, so any tag that does run before consent runs in a restricted mode without cookies.
Google may process this data outside your country. Google’s own privacy terms are at policies.google.com/privacy.
Other tools on this site
We list these so that nothing is hidden.
- PixelYourSite. Installed on this site. It can set first party cookies that record when your visit started, whether it is your first visit, and which page or source you arrived from. No third party advertising pixel is configured on this site at the time of writing. If we add one, we will update this page and it will sit in the marketing category.
- Website hosting. Our host writes standard server logs. Logs are not cookies, but they do record your IP address and the pages served. This is needed to run and secure the site.
- Security. Our security plugin may set a short lived cookie to tell a real visitor from an automated attack.
- Embedded media. Pages with an embedded video, map or social post may allow that provider to set its own cookies once the embed loads. Those are governed by the provider’s own policy.
We do not run Google Analytics on this site at present. An analytics plugin is installed but no tracking code is configured. If that changes, this page will change with it.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also manage cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see stored cookies, delete them, and block them. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working. Look under Settings, then Privacy.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers can send a Do Not Track or a Global Privacy Control signal. There is no single agreed standard for how websites should respond to them. The reliable way to control cookies here is the consent banner and the floating cookie icon.
Changes to this policy
We review this page whenever we add or remove a tool. The date at the top shows the current version.
